Visit from Tim

Last week we were treated to a visit from our dear friend, Tim. Jay had to work during the day, so I went with Tim all over the place and played tourist. We always made sure we got home in time to meet up with Jay, cook up some good eats, and even explore some parks in the low evening light. This is a picture of Tim and me at Mountain Lake on Orcas Island.

Tim arrived in the middle of the tulip festival. Most of the tulips have not opened up yet, but we did manage to find this one patch of beauties. We rode our bikes around all the flowers (the daffodils were all open and stunning) for the better part of one day, went to La Conner and sipped some local microbrews after biking, and then we picked up Jay and headed over to Deception Pass State Park. Deception is always eye-popping, but you add afternoon low light to the setting and it is incredible. We climbed our way around Pass Island and marveled at the views.

Tim left on Friday and we are having a very mellow weekend. We repotted plants, played with our cats (we still love them), and have big plans to brew a java stout tonight! yum! We don't have anymore visitors for another month, but we have loads of other things going on to keep both of us busy. We still have thousands of photos to go through and organize from our big trip!
