The mountains got some great snow this weekend, but we were saving cash for our trip to Wyoming next weekend to visit Jay's Dad and Charlotte (and ski at Jackson Hole). But cross-country skiing can still happen! So we headed up to Mt. Baker and hit the trail! It was a soggy snow and we were pretty wet by the end of the day, but it was still fun. And a great excuse to stop at one of our favorite pizza and beer places in WA on the way home. Yummy.

We made homemade ice cream a week ago with our new (Christmas gift) ice cream maker. We need to switch to sorbet after this or our bellies will get large fast! The ice cream was oh so tasty.
On a different note - Jay left for the ASLO meeting in Salt Lake City today so we headed to Seattle early. We finally visited the Seattle Art Museum (SAM) and were able to see the special exhibit on Gauguin with our friend Jackie. We met up with her husband, Paul (my old pal from Glacier Bay) and their kid Harrison, afterwards. After a lovely lunch with them we wandered around Pike Place and got some donuts from the famous donut place. There was always a really long line there and I wanted to know what it was all about. So we got some donuts. They were O.K.. Nothing will beat the apple cider donuts from my hometown in NY. Oh well. Good times anyway!
