In Malaysia w/ Buz and Char

We left Bali for Singapore on Wednesday, then took a bus to Kuala Lumpur (recognize those twin towers? used to be the tallest in the world until Taiwan and Dubai came along with theirs) the next day and met my dad and Charlotte. They just came from about two weeks visiting Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand and had much to tell...we can't wait to go! But in the mean time Malaysia is really interesting, different, and fun. Luckily Julie and I know a little bit of the lingo (not that you really need it, many people speak English) since Indonesians and Malaysians speak the same language (called Malay). We're at a swank (as Julie would say) resort on an island called Redang, on the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, in the South China Sea. We only have a handful of days here to catch up before B&C head back home. This island is surrounded by a marine park and the snorkeling and diving are supposedly pretty good, and we'll hopefully get in the water later today and tomorrow. Went swimming yesterday and the water was almost too hot! The internet connection here is wicked fast so we may add another update later...

Now that it is the evening we can post a photo of the four of us underwater! We had a great dive with Buz and Charlotte! If we can, we will post the photos tonight. Hey folks - we miss hearing from ya! Shoot a line to us occasionally lonely travellers sometime! (Although I should note that we are NOT lonely right now, having Buz and Char here is grand)

Hi J & J! Greetings from Newport. It's a rainy day in New England. Mary Sparkles is lounging in the window...watching the rain come down.

It's great to see Jay surfing! So cool. The food you've eaten looks and sounds delicious. We cannot wait to experience an Indo feast in the future. And you've been doing so much diving - awesome! I'm sure it's nice to have had some familiar faces around recently.

Of course, we miss you dearly. Seems like it was just yesterday when we were searching for an ice cream place with no luck and saying "see you soon." Time has flown by! This coming weekend, we are having the 2nd Annual Brew & Que at Jeff, Lisa, and Max's house. Justin is building a draft system with 5 taps!

We will send you pictures very soon. I think Justin has a particular picture that he wants to send. We're definitely looking forward to learning about your upcoming adventures! Thinking of you often...

Love you two,
KP and Justin
